PUREST has now entered into a Collaboration with the Swiss Organisation myclimate, one of the world’s leading providers of voluntary carbon offsetting and climate solutions.
Aim of this Collaboration is to further reduce PUREST’s Environmental Footprint. PUREST has in fact committed to offset all carbon emissions caused by the transportation of all raw material and finished products, from the Grassland in Mongolia where the Cashmere yarn is sourced up to our Boutique Partners where our exclusive Accessories meet our demanding Clients.
Patrick Garbini, Founder and Managing Director at PUREST, commented on this latest Company’s milestone: “PUREST has a genuine and pragmatic commitment towards a sustainable development of all activities and product development, the respect of natural and human resources is a core value and drives our daily operations”.
Since the launch of the first Priceless Collection in 2011, PUREST has already adopted key measures to protect not only the environment. For instance, all color pigments used to dye our Creations are environmental friendly and azo-free, and the Company refrain from using any chemical finishing agent with the intent to protect the environment as well as the health of Employees and Clients, who can enjoy the original pureness and softness of the wonderful and precious Cashmere. Furthermore, for all our products and product packaging we make exclusive use of natural fibers, along with a dozens of additional measures including in particular improved working conditions for our Employees.
“Offsetting the emissions produced by our complex logistic chain is a natural step and a responsibility towards all our Stakeholders”, added Patrick Garbini, “because of our focus on excellence and the sourcing of the finest Cashmere in Mongolia, the production in our Atelier in the Kathmandu Valley and our major Markets being located mainly in Europe and Asia, we have calculated that every item covers on average 11’000km. Despite the very low weight of our products we felt it was necessary to neutralize the impact on the environment; the very positive returns we already received from our Partners and Clients are a motivation to go even further”.
PUREST’s vision is to become fully carbon neutral by end of 2016 and further measures will be implemented in the near future to achieve this strategic target.
